Excel 1.0 - to hide parts of your worksheet - set the width of the columns you want to hide to zero. (An indication of a hidden column will be a jump in the letters at the top of the screen that identify each column.) when you want to open up your hidden column, select the columns on either side of it, choose Column Width from the Format menu. All three columns will adjust to the width you specify.
(You may have to adjust them back to the width you want after the hidden column appears.
